Haralabos Voulgaris hails from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada but holds his Greek heritage close to his heart. His personal life is also something he keeps close, enough so that most don't know much about his youth. What is known is that he is a highly intelligent individual with the brain power and determination to achieve any goals to which he sets his mind. He holds a college degree in philosophy from the University of Manitoba and is an aspiring playwright who hopes to have one of his plays performed on Broadway. He also plans to become an accomplished piano player.

High standards are something that Haralabos holds himself to, but his goals are far from unattainable. He has made a living for since he was about 17 or 18 years old as a professional sports bettor, specifically in NBA basketball, and most recently, poker player. For several years, cash games were his specialty in the poker arena, but in 2003, he put his mind to becoming a winning tournament player as well. After first seeing a World Poker Tour broadcast during its first season, he decided to give it his best shot. He began by cashing in the Bellagio Five Diamond World Poker Classic $2500 no-limit hold'em events two years in a row.

In early 2005, Haralabos played in the World Poker Tour's main event at the L.A. Poker Classic and not only bested most of the field, but he finished in second place to add nearly a million dollars to his bankroll. With his newfound passion of poker front and center in his life, he has taken to the international tournament circuit and cashed in other WPT events – a total of seven to date – as well as the Monte Carlo Millions and Aussie Millions. His most recent attempt to take a WPT title was in September of 2007 at the WPT Borgata Poker Open. Even going to the final table as the short stack, he fought through to finish in third place for more than $400,000. Besides writing an award-winning play and mastering the piano, this intensely driven man is gunning for a WPT title as well.
