Quinn Do Mighty Quinn
Quinn Do was born in Vietnam but moved with his family to the United States. Growing up in Seattle, Washington was the epitome of suburban life in America, and the Do family appreciated the opportunities afforded them by life in America. After high school, Quinn went on to college at the University of Washington where he majored in criminology. Since the college days, he has gone a different way than his major might indicate; he is a restaurant owner, claiming a Vietnamese restaurant in Seattle and another in the Los Angeles area.
Always considering investments and making money, it should be no surprise that when Quinn entered the poker world about four years ago, he knew exactly how to make it a profitable endeavor. Since his foray into the poker world, he has mostly stayed in the cash game realm where he can better control his bankroll, but tournaments have lured him in through the years. And with friends like Tuan Le, Theo Tran, Nam Le, and JC Tran who specialize in tournaments, he has been encouraged to play through the years.
That was no mistake. Quinn has a fairly lengthy list of tournament cashes on his resume, most significantly a 2005 World Series of Poker bracelet in the $2500 limit hold’em event, just after placing fifth in a WSOP limit hold’em event only two days prior. With several other WSOP cashes on his list of accomplishments, it has been the World Poker Tour that has captured his attention of late. He had three cashes on the WPT within a six-month time span, one of which was at the 2008 L.A. Poker Classic. After winning a satellite to enter the event in Los Angeles, he made it through one of the toughest fields on the tour to be seated at the final table. A valiant effort gave him a runner-up finish – second only to Phil Ivey – for a $909,400 payday.
