Steve Brecher was born in San Diego, California. He's now an amateur actor and poker player. Brecher is a lifetime student of the game of poker and a former computer software professional. He combined those two skill sets to write odds-calculating programs for Texas Hold 'em. Brecher has had a good bit of success as a Texas Hold 'em player, and he has been cashing in major tournaments since the mid-1990s. Brecher has made the money in seven World Poker Tour events. He's made one WPT final table, the WPT World Championship in Season Two. He won more than $232,000 for his sixth place finish in that tournament. When he's not playing poker, you might find Brecher on the stage at his community theatre, hiking, or surfing the web.
