Born and raised in Southern California, Nhan “Tommy” Le may just have poker running through his family’s bloodlines. He is the younger brother of WPT champion and very successful poker player Nam Le, and he is very close friends – to the extent that he calls him a brother – with former WPT world champion Tuan Le. In addition, his circle of friends includes a number of other top players like JC Tran, Steve Sung, and Nam Le. Between watching his friends do well in poker, even sitting behind them in certain instances, and receiving advice from them, Tommy is well on his way to following in their footsteps.

Tommy is mainly an online poker player, having played for two years in predominantly tournament environments. He plays up to 12 hours per day and made a consistent five-figure income each month, but when he saw the success of his brother and friends on the live tournament circuit, he began to consider that he should transition to live play. Though not giving up internet poker, he has made numerous forays into the live environment and done well, with three World Series of Poker cashes thus far.

The self-proclaimed Phil Ivey of home games – a name given because he does well under pressure – is also referred to as Tommy Legend, and recently he had the opportunity to proclaim that status under the lights and cameras of a World Poker Tour final table. After winning a $2600 satellite to gain his seat into the 2008 WPT World Championship, he went on to show the world that his nickname isn’t for not, as he emerged from one of the toughest fields in poker tournaments to earn a seat at the final table. With a fifth place finish and close to $400,000 added to his bankroll, he has joined his close-knit group of friends in an elite group of players who have made WPT final tables. And if he tell it, this is only the beginning.
